Ok, it's been over a year since I've made an entry, but I'm going to try and get this started again.....
Alot has changed over the past year. Nate has lost interest in baseball (actually never really had any), Micah got into pageants and gave up softball, and Layla and I have started eating better and we've both lost a lot of weight. My wife is a hottie!
I started running again, and have run about 5 races since April. Mostly 5ks, with a best of 21:34 at the Texas Police Games. That was good enough to earn me a silver medal. I won a silver medal in the 800m, and a gold in the 1500m. Back to that later.
Layla is has enrolled in the alternate teaching certification program and will be teaching Special Education at Jefferson Junior High School this fall. We are all very excited about that.

This is the first entry for the Ames family- Texas edition. We plan to keep this updated as a way for our family and friends to keep with us.
Softball and T-ball season has started, keeping us pretty busy. We have a practice or a game nearly every single day. Layla and I get home from work, get the kids dressed and off we go. Micah had a game in Omaha (about thirty minutes from home) last night. Her team, the Hurricanes, had a good lead and then tried to give the game away in the final inning. The Hurricanes ended up winning by one run, Miss Micah had two hits, a walk, and scored two runs.
Nate pretty much ran around with other kids finding all kind of games to play with sticks and things.
